A speciality week

The Pilates Week

10–17 April 2027 · with Emma

Two Pilates classes a day with Emma and the château around them. New to Pilates or practising for years, all you need is to get down onto the floor and up again, with no current injuries.

A day on the Pilates week

From the first classto an early night.

The same gentle shape every day, so your body knows what is coming.

Morning

The first classof the day.

Emma's morning class is the dynamic one: strength, balance and posture, with bands and light hand weights.

Each morning adds one new exercise, so you feel the week build.

Emma teaching a Pilates class in a bright studio, balancing on one hand and one knee while the women on their mats follow her.
The château from the drive, a long pale stone château with two towers under a clear sky.

Middle of the day

Timethat is yours.

The spa, the pool, a walk in the countryside, lunch from the private chef. Or nothing at all.

The indoor pool under a vaulted stone ceiling, one woman swimming and others sitting along the edge in the arched windows.
Guests walking in the open under old trees on a summer walk.
The table at the château laid with shared salads and dishes, guests helping themselves.

Afternoon

Slower,and softer.

The second class opens up the hips, shoulders and spine and is different every day.

It ends with ten to twenty minutes of mindfulness.

Emma sitting cross legged on a mat with her eyes closed, one hand on her chest and one on her stomach.
A guest sitting between the stone columns of the loggia in the shade, face turned to the light.

Evening

Dinner,and an early night.

Three courses at one long table at the château, then bed.

Fifteen women seated along one long candlelit table under a beamed ceiling, with a stone arch through to the next room.
The tower and the old buildings across the natural pool in evening light, with three guests sitting on the edge with their feet in the water.

In Emma's words

The feeling of freedom to be yourself, without pressure or judgment.

Meet Emma

Pilatesand mindfulness.

Emma has taught Pilates for more than ten years. It began after back surgery, as a way to help her body recover and became her way of life.

At home she walks her dog on Portobello beach and swims in the sea all year round.

What this week is for

Two classes a day,and room to settle.

A week built around two classes a day, the château, the spa and the walks, with a wine and Armagnac tasting at a nearby château one afternoon.

The days stay close to home, so your body can settle in.

The tasting is optional: out after lunch and back in time for the afternoon class. A trip to the market may be offered too, weather dependent.
